Our Funding Catalyst team works closely with high-growth venture founders to help them articulate their vision, develop a capitalization strategy for their growth, and identify and apply for non dilutive funding and SR&ED tax credits. Through development of long term relationships with our clients, we are on a mission to be the trusted source for fundraising strategies and execution for ventures across North America. Since its inception, Funding Catalyst has helped companies secure $50M+ in non-dilutive capital, accelerating the growth and development of startups in the innovation ecosystem.
Thin Air Labs’ Funding Catalyst team is looking for a Manager with a passion for entrepreneurship to further scale our Funding Catalyst service across North America.
You would be described as:
- Having 3+ years of experience as a Manager or Team Lead in a professional and/or consulting services organization supporting innovative companies
- Experienced at building and managing a team, with demonstrated ability to guide, motivate, and support team members in delivering high-quality products
- Skilled in project management and resource allocation, with a focus on delivering high-quality, timely, and profitable outcomes
- Having excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate and build trust with stakeholders at every level
- Having exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities, with a customer-centric approach to resolving service-related challenges
- Possessing strong business acumen with demonstrated success in scaling service-based businesses
- Committed to delivering outstanding customer service and a passion for exceeding customer expectations
- Having a track record in fostering a customer-centric culture within the service team, emphasizing empathy, professionalism, and effective problem-solving
- Skilled at fostering a collaborative working environment and leading the professional development of team members
- Having a strong ability to assess process and make changes iteratively and gain buy-in from others around process adoption
- A strong team player with the ability to collaborate with the broader Thin Air Labs team to create exceptional outcomes for our customers
- Data-driven with the ability to gather and use key metrics to inform decision-making
- Experienced with SR&ED and other forms of non-dilutive funding
You will be responsible for:
- Leading and managing the entire Funding Catalyst service, ensuring efficient service delivery and high customer sentiment
- Oversee all Funding Catalyst projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met
- Management of the Funding Catalyst and SR&ED team members, including development, coaching and performance management
- Analyzing current and future resource needs by assessing project requirements, workload forecasts, and team capabilities, and effectively allocating necessary resources across projects
- Collaborating with the leadership team to understand the hiring needs of Funding Catalyst and lead the recruitment and onboarding process for new team members
- Participating in strategic planning, including monthly/quarterly objective and goal setting and providing strategic direction and leadership to the Funding Catalyst team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals
- Acting as a point of escalation for complex customer issues, demonstrating good problem-solving skills, and resolving conflicts professionally and effectively
- Monitoring service metrics and analyzing customer feedback to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
- Proactive assessment of Funding Catalyst’s operational policies, practices, and processes to identify areas for improvement and efficiency
- Preparation and presentation of reports to senior management on team performance, project status, and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure success and identify areas for improvement
