‍Our Funding Catalyst team works closely with high-growth venture founders to help them articulate their vision, develop a capitalization strategy for their growth, and identify and apply for various forms of capital to support it. We are on a mission to be the trusted source for fundraising strategies and execution for ventures across North America. Since its inception, Funding Catalyst has helped companies secure millions in non-dilutive capital, accelerating the growth and development of ventures in the innovation ecosystem.

We are looking for a talented SR&ED Expert with a passion for entrepreneurship. The candidate will work collaboratively with founding teams to help them identify SR&ED eligible expenses, prepare SR&ED filings and support during the review and follow-up process with the CRA.

What you’ll be doing:

• Maintain relationships with clients throughout the year to ensure they are maximizing their SR&ED potential and accurately tracking SR&ED eligible expenses
• Doing initial scoping work with clients to determine whether there are SR&ED eligible elements in their work
• Provide professional advice related to requirements to file successful SR&ED claims including documentation and its compliance with SR&ED program requirements
• Work with clients to define project scopes, develop technical write-ups, and gather data associated with project costs
• Prepare and submit SR&ED claims in collaboration with clients and their accounting/bookkeeping team in accordance with CRA guidelines
• Support clients through interactions and technical interviews with the CRA throughout the process

What we’re looking for:

• A SR&ED subject matter expert with 4+ years of experience
• Strong technical writing skills with a knack for breaking down complex ideas in a concise and persuasive tone
• Experience interfacing with both clients and the CRA to file and defend SR&ED claims
• Coaching clients on how to navigate the SR&ED process
• The ability to juggle multiple projects at one time
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
