A wall of equipment. Huge lights. A crew dressed in black. Thanks to the team at Maven Media it looked like a television studio had been dropped into our new office space in the Corner Block building in Calgary's Beltline neighbourhood.

It was all for our first-ever virtual investor event on October 26th,  “Investing in What’s Next - A Proven Model for Wealth Building In the West.” 

Our goal was to tell investors and entrepreneurs about our early-stage, founder-first investment thesis. We explained how our model of investing early and then supporting entrepreneurs with mentorship, design expertise and connection to the innovation ecosystem reduces risk for the both the ventures and investors.  

The event was designed to launch the Thin Air Labs Fund so we can now scale our model, creating a new economy for the prairies, while also creating wealth and meaningful impact.

The event also included interviews with the Founders of three of our portfolio companies: Symend,  Syantra  and Athennian.

The event wrapped up with a call to action for investors to #InvestInWhatsNext.

We are actively raising the first 100 million dollars to support ventures in the prairies with the goal of reaching 300 million. We are well on our way with 11 million dollars already committed by the three partners at Thin Air Labs.
